Pan Head screws are widely used to fix D rings to picture frames. These are Zinc plated (a silver finish), 3mm in diameter and 10mm long, so ideal for smaller mouldings where using a larger screw would risk splitting the frame. Heavier frames will often need a larger screw - 3.5mm (no. 6 guage) screws will also fit most D rings.
